Jabra adds the JX20 Pura Titanium; a high-end Bluetooth headset
Jabra has introduced the new JX20 Bluetooth headset, which features a shiny titanium exterior along with a high-gloss black trim. Aside from the fancy new exterior the JX20 was designed by Jacob Jensen and offers Bluetooth 2.0 support with up to 6-hours of talk-time. The headset will auto-pair and comes with extra ear-hooks and ear-bud inserts to offer a better fit. Sadly the JX20 headset is going to retail for $179, which should effectively put it out of a good price range for many potential users, especially considering the Jawbone, which already gets wonderful reviews can be purchased for only $119.99. FCC: Google allowed to become “Google Wireless”

FCC: Google allowed to become “Google Wireless”
The FCC has cleared Google along with 214 other companies to go ahead and participate in the 700 Mhz spectrum auction.  Over 50 companies and individuals have been rejected by the FCC as not meeting their standards.  The auction will take place 1/24 with a minimum starting bid of $4.6 Billion. You may recall Google proposed their bid to the FCC with 4 caveats.  The FCC accepted just one, saying that the spectrum must be open to all mobile devices (keeping the interpretation of that precariously vague).  Google chose to stay in the game anyhow. Time Capsule Hands-on [Time Capsule]

Time Capsule Hands-on [Time Capsule]
Apple’s Time Capsule backup server is a great idea, and looks great as well. It’s the same size as the Airport Extreme, but seems heavier. It has the exact same ports as the Airport Extreme (four Gigabit Ethernet ports, normal power ports) and has 802.11n. The top is different and has a chrome reflective Apple logo. There’s not much else to say until we get our hands on it at home and test it ourselves, so check out the gallery to see how it looks. HP facing lawsuit over exploding Presario, injured daughter
Posted Jan 15th 2008 11:02AM by Paul MillerFiled under: LaptopsA Little Rock, Arkansas man is taking HP to court over a faulty Compaq Presario that he says is to blame for burning his house down and causing serious injury to his daughter. The Wal-Mart-bought computer seemed perfectly fine until it suddenly burst into flames, catching his entire house on fire. His daughter had to jump out of a second story window to escape the fire, and sustained burns, physical injuries and “extreme mental anguish.” As if it wasn’t bad enough having a Presario in the first place. Red Zune 80, lovey-dovey Zune Originals artwork emerge for Valentine’s Day
Posted Jan 15th 2008 11:31AM by Darren MurphFiled under: Portable Audio, Portable VideoIt’s not like we’ve never seen a Zune doused in red, but Microsoft is apparently hoping to milk the hue just a bit more by smothering a new Zune 80 in it. Supposedly created especially for Valentine’s Day (T-minus one month, fellas), it won’t differ from any other Zune 80 save for the color, but just in case that’s not mushy enough, Redmond is offering up 20 new love-themed, laser-engraved designs at Zune Originals, but they’ll all vanish after February 14th. Apple introduces Time Capsule, a NAS companion to Time Machine
Posted Jan 15th 2008 11:45AM by Joshua TopolskyFiled under: Storage Apple announced a companion to Time Machine today, Time Capsule. Essentially a hard drive and Airport combined — an NAS from your favorite Cupertino team. The wireless drive will come in 500GB and 1TB configurations, and will feature 802.11n, as well as server grade hard drives. They will clock in at $299 and $499, respectively (Steve says they’re aggressively pricing them because they want everyone to backup). You’ll be able to backup your notebook or desktop wirelessly from anywhere in your home. (Read the full post about ‘Apple introduces Time Capsule, a NAS companion to Time Machine’…)

Macworld: MacBook Air is Real and Has Multi Touch

Macworld: MacBook Air is Real and Has Multi Touch
It looks like our sources were right, Apple has just announced the MacBook Air, “The World’s Thinnest Notebook”. The MacBook Air sports a full sized, 13.3 inch LED backlit screen with a built in iSight camera and a full sized, backlit keyboard. The whole thing is just 0.16 inches thick. So thin, in fact, that you can slide it into an envelope. The new notebook also has a multi touch trackpad, and it’s big. The multi touch functions can be customized, but the essentials are there too: the pinch’n'zoom of the iPhone, for instance. Apple have gone with a tiny, iPod sized 1.8 inch hard drive to save space, which will be 80GB in size, but – get this – there’s an option for a 64GB SSD! Top Gear Coming to NBC in Remake Form [TV]

<i/>Top Gear Coming to NBC in Remake Form [TV]” src=”/wp-content/thumbs/top-gear-coming-to-nbc-in-remake-form-tv.jpg” style=”padding: 7px; float: left;” /><br />
I’ve got good news and bad news. First, the good: the amazing British auto show Top Gear is coming to the US! Now, the bad: it’s in the form of a remake on NBC, haters of original ideas and kings of the unnecessary remake! That means that the wonderful hosts — Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond — won’t be involved. Instead, knowing NBC, it’ll probably be hosted by Macho Man Randy Savage, Vern Troyer and Alicia Silverstone. Time will tell whether or not they’ll be able to pull the remake off (they did a damn good job with The Office, after all), but I’m more than skeptical. Hit the jump to check out my favorite Top Gear segment ever and then try to imagine NBC doing something half as entertaining. <a href=Share This
