Geeky Headgear from New Era
For the latest info on the coolest gadgets, emerging technology and wired madness, subscribe to our full news feed or have it delivered to your inbox. Always free. Always unique. Thanks for visiting! New Era has some rather pricey game inspired caps on the market.  The caps, which feature boldly colored Pacman and Space Invaders motifs might not give you street cred, but they ooze geek cred.  All but the most hardcore geeks will probably avoid these, but if any of you out there are looking for a game hat that you can wear in the privacy of your own home, this is it. The price, unfortunately is $55 per hat, which is what most people would pay for semi-stylish head wear and as much as a new game. (Read the full post about ‘Geeky Headgear from New Era’…)

Video Footage of Windows 7 Ultimate Leaked? [Clips]

Written by admin on Saturday, January 26th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

We already heard news about the next-gen Windows OS, Windows 7 Ultimate. Well, the fellows at Think Next are offering up a video, which they claim shows the “Milestone 1 code drop,” all in shaky video glory. Check it out by hitting the video above.

The video shown is apparently from a release that was shipped to Microsoft’s major partners earlier this year.

too cheap to buy a ps3 dualshock controller?

too cheap to buy a ps3 dualshock controller?
This strange appendage snaps on to the bottom of your standard PlayStation 3 SIXAXIS joystick, turning it into a poor-man’s DualShock controller. PEGA’s oddly-named “Vibrating Bag” adds rumble capability to your stock PS3 controller. Now they don’t specify if the vibration actually works when the game generates its feedback signal, or if the thing just continuously rumbles. But couldn’t your tired hands use a relaxing massage anyway? In addition to adding some unwelcome bulk to the controller, the remote receiver that plugs into the console’s USB port has a huge antenna sticking out of it, messing with your PS3’s sleek good looks. Crowd-monitoring humanoid helps lost mall patrons, likely freaks them out
Posted Jan 26th 2008 1:08PM by Darren MurphFiled under: Robots We’ve witnessed our fair share of Robovies, and let’s just say we’ve a healthy fear of ‘em. That being said, we’re fairly certain we’d come darn close to fainting or reacting violently should the creature pictured above approach us while shopping ever. Nevertheless, this humanoid is apparently allowed to run amok at Universal Citywalk Osaka as the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute tests out its ability to interpret signals from cameras, sensors and RFID readers and determine which patrons are thoroughly lost. When it recognizes a stumped individual, it wheels over, confirms their state of confusion and politely offers directions to their destination of choice. Steampunk NERF Weaponry [Weapons]

Steampunk NERF Weaponry [Weapons]
Fact: NERF glocks are way cooler than their gunpowder-based alternatives. And steampunk (like certain varieties of sharp orange cheese) makes everything better. That’s why we’re flipping out over these customized steampunk NERF guns by Chris Furniss (even though you may have seen them before). It doesn’t appear that Furniss fabricated anything, and instead scraped off the toy logos and painted the pistols to looks like an aged mixture of metals. Sadly, these two pistols don’t appear to be for sale. (Read the full post about ‘Steampunk NERF Weaponry [Weapons]’…)

Motorcycle-inspired pizza cutters

Motorcycle-inspired pizza cutters
If innovation in pizza cutter creation ever hits the mainstream, artist Frankie Flood will be the first to know. His exhibition at the Museum of Wisconsin Art, which includes five pizza cutters resembling motorcycles and bearing funky names like Psycho Pizza Cadillac, has garnered well deserved attention for their ability to show that “even the most utilitarian object has strong artistic value.” I wonder if those wheels could manage the deep and gooey terrain of a Chicago deep dish? Tesla Roadster gets wrecked, legal for sale in the US
Tesla Motors has announced they are officially able to move forward with sales, of course those who were willing to plunk down that $5,000 to get on the waiting list will still have a little while longer to wait. The first roadster, which was codenamed the “P1” will be going to company chairman Elon Musk, then production will begin on March 17, 2008. Currently there is around 600 people on the waiting list, who should begin receiving their long awaited cars fairly quickly after production begins. Tesla Motors is estimating that they will be able to churn out about 40 per week once they go into full production later in 2008. Part of the requirement before sales could begin here in the U.S. (Read the full post about ‘Tesla Roadster gets wrecked, legal for sale in the US’…)
