Elonex One: England’s 100 quid laptop
Posted Feb 17th 2008 3:03PM by Ryan BlockFiled under: LaptopsEverybody and their mother’s got a super-budget laptop these days (see: OLPC, Eee PC, Cloudbook, Pixel Qi, etc.), and next at the table will apparently be Elonex, which intends to introduce the £100 (~$200) One on February 28th at The Education Show in Birmingham, England. Obviously the intention here is to sell to education markets, but the One is also going to be up for grabs for “adult learners, business users, people who are constantly mobile, elderly people and first time internet users.” We don’t have any better shots of the thing, but apparently this One (not that One, or the other One) will weigh “less than a kilo” (2.2 pounds), has a 7-inch screen, three hour battery, 1GB of flash memory, and runs on Linux. Safe update for Apple TV v2, Safari HD hacks released
Posted Feb 17th 2008 2:29PM by Ryan BlockFiled under: Home EntertainmentThere isn’t (yet) a way to hack Apple TV v2 (aka take 2), but if you were patient enough to wait for the “safe” PatchStick upgrade on your hacked unit, Safari HD is ready to go. Good luck, and take care, after those weeks of waiting for the new update it sure would suck to brick that device.Read - Safe update for Apple TV v2Read - Safari HD availableTags: DVD, players, gprs, electronic toys (Read the full post about ‘Safe update for Apple TV v2, Safari HD hacks released’…)

Turns out they’re scans from Stuff magazine from months ago, which seems to have passed under everyone’s radar (including our own, initially) because so few people seem to actually read it.[Via PSP Fanboy, with help from Engadget Español]”New in 2008: July-DecTop box: Between both keyboards there is a 3 inches screen with the same resolution of the PSP (480×272 pixels) which guarantees a good gaming experience. Video: Radio Control Tank Gets Steampunk’d
The last video for YouTube Sunday is a little something for all of you Steampunk fans out there. This impressed me, I must say. A radio control tank powered by steam. This really is a great job of combining steam with radio components. The last entry into Questioneering’s blog was October 2007, so we are hoping that he is still around and working on ever greater projects. Video after the jump. The completed Steam Powered Radio Controlled Tank. (Read the full post about ‘Video: Radio Control Tank Gets Steampunk’d’…)

Keep to-do lists in the palm of your hand

Keep to-do lists in the palm of your hand
When I was in college, my friends used to laugh at me whenever they saw “rent” written in permanent marker on my hand each month. Strange as it may have looked, it was the only surefire way to remind myself that rent was due. I didn’t refer to a calendar often enough to ever know what day it was and anything I wrote in the margins while in class were promptly forgotten about, so my hand was really the only sensible option. To-Do Tattoos don’t just understand what I mean, they validate my idiosyncrasy. Who knew the line between abnormal and normal was made up of twelve temporary tattoos and a skin-safe gel pen. Via Crave. (Read the full post about ‘Keep to-do lists in the palm of your hand’…)
