Homemade Flame Gloves

Written by admin on Monday, February 18th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

This video shows a glove that produces a flame going out from the index finger. You can use it to (try to) impress your friends, or if you are a professional rioter, you might find a use for it at the next World Trade Organization conference. Either way, you’ll look like a dork, the difference is whether or not you’ll be bombarded with tear gas.

Dell set to launch new AMD-based systems this week

Remember last week when we told you that Dell had gotten rid of almost all of their AMD-based systems from their online store? Even though they posted a note on their site letting you know that you should look to their retail partners for AMD-powered PCs, they appear to have changed their mind. Later this week we’ll see several new systems from Dell, and they don’t have Intel inside. The new OptiPlex 740 PCs are slated to feature Phenom Triple-Core and Quad-Core chips, as well as the standard Athlon X2 Dual-Core CPUs. Dell has opted not to use integrated graphics, but rather utilize the Nvidia Quatro NVS 210S PCI Express x16 card. (Read the full post about ‘Dell set to launch new AMD-based systems this week’…)

Toshiba claims “no decision” on HD DVD strategy as desertions continue
Posted Feb 18th 2008 8:16AM by Thomas RickerFiled under: HDTVToshiba made a formal announcement today with regard to the state of HD DVD. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the white-flag surrender we had hoped would bring a swift end to the format war. In a statement made by a Toshiba spokesman, the firm said, “Toshiba has not made any announcement or decision. We are currently assessing our business strategies, but nothing has been decided at the moment.” This came as its stock soared under investor speculation that Toshiba was ready to pre-empt future losses and bring the battle with Blu-ray to a conclusive end. Nevertheless, a multi-format disc pressing plant for indie films by the name of Blue Ray Technologies (BRT) announced the closure of its hd dvd stamping lines. Everex Cloudbook gets delayed again

Guess what didn’t come out Friday? While I’m sure there were plenty of products that didn’t make their debut last Friday, there was one in particular that was slated for arrival, yet never quite made it to the stores. Of course I’m talking about Everex’s Eee PC competitor, the Cloudbook. Those waiting at Walmart to see the tiny notebook to hit the shelves were sorely disappointed, as it never arrived. What was the official scoop from Everex? They were mum, as their site still listed the ship date as February 15th. It does appear that they have finally updated it, as the site says it should be available on Thursday. (Read the full post about ‘Everex Cloudbook gets delayed again’…)

Tic Tac Toast

Tic Tac Toast

Mother always said not to play with your food, but with the Tic Tac Toast, that warning comes across as harder to follow. Another good reason to play with your food! The Tic Tac Toast stamper combines the fun of tic-tac-toe with the tastiness of toast. Just press this 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ plastic stamper into a piece of bread, then put your bread in the toaster. The resulting toast will be branded with a tic-tac-toe grid! When the toasted gameboard is ready, all thats left to do is pick some tasty toppings and play a game. No prizes for guessing who gets to ear the toast. At least you know both peanut butter and jelly will be more or less evenly spread out. (Read the full post about ‘Tic Tac Toast’…)
