Boost Mobile adds the MOTOKRZR to the lineup
Boost Mobile users now have another option to choose from, recently added is the MOTOKRZR. This new addition brings the total handsets offered by Boost up to three. So while the MOTOKRZR may not be the hottest phone on the market today, when you only have two others (the c290 or w385) to choose from it becomes very nice looking. The Boost Mobile-branded MOTOKRZR retains the same features which includes a built-in GPS receiver, a 1.3 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom and video recording, microSD card slot, Bluetooth, speakerphone with voice dialing and a voice recorder. It also comes pre-installed with a web browser, email client, a universal IM client that works with AOL, Yahoo! (Read the full post about ‘Boost Mobile adds the MOTOKRZR to the lineup’…)

London Police Suspicious of Photographers

London Police Suspicious of Photographers
The London metropolitan police has started a communications campaign that urges citizens to report a suspicious photo activity. The idea is that terrorists could be doing surveillance work to plan an attack. They could, for example locate security cameras and so on… There might be an argument for doing so, but I honestly doubt that from a security perspective, this is going to be efficient. It is probably not very hard to get such information in a discrete way - discrete enough so that normal citizens would not notice. Of course, you can expect an avalanche of civil right complains and so on… If you’re in London taking pictures, make sure to not look too suspicious ;) (Read the full post about ‘London Police Suspicious of Photographers’…)

$500 the New Sweet Spot for Beginner SLRs

$500 the New Sweet Spot for Beginner SLRs
Didn’t we tell you $500 was going to be the price to beat for entry-level digital SLRs? Nikon got there first with deep discounts on the D40X, and now Olympus is jumping in with the new E-420, selling out of the gate for five Benjamins (body only, avaiable in May). Besides price, the 10-megapixel shooter is being touted as one of the smallest and lightest SLRs ever, weighing in at a neck-saving 13.4 ounces. You also get the usual face detection, image stabilization, Live View LCD and shadow/highlight balancing. And what of the value we and others have been harping on, image sensor size? Olympus remains wedded to the 4/3" format, providing about a third less real estate than competitors. (Read the full post about ‘$500 the New Sweet Spot for Beginner SLRs’…)

Conceptual hotel takes a note from the Death Star
Posted Mar 6th 2008 10:44AM by Darren MurphFiled under: Misc. gadgets We can’t say with a straight face that the capital of Azerbaijan is high on our list of places to vacation at, but for Star Wars fanatics, the case could be different. Reportedly, Heerim Architects has dreamt up a couple of “lunar inspired” projects for the Asian country, one of which (Full Moon Bay) looks an awful lot like the Death Star. Granted, the building looks entirely different from varying angles, but we’re choosing to focus on the one that brings back fond memories of light sabers blazing and wookiees waltzing. Truth be told, we’ve no idea if these facilities will ever break ground, but we’re absolutely certain th (Read the full post about ‘Conceptual hotel takes a note from the Death Star’…)

Telescope lens for the iPhone

Telescope lens for the iPhone

The iPhone is a a fantastically cool phone but it’s photography capabilities are not exactly bleeding edge (paper cut sharp at best), could the iPhone Cellphone Telescope-Snap be the answer. This iphone telescope is made to help you extend your iPhone viewing distand, capture the excitement of instant moment far from you conveniently. Incorporate a new design to allow ray effectively avoid the contortion of image, and makes the super wide angle, the larger luminous flux, the higher visual acuteness, good for color reduction, which makes the high quality of photography. It doesn’t add anything to the aesthetics of your phone but it does overcome one of it’s shortcomings but do you really want to ruin the image of the coolest phone with a snap-on? Logitech ClearChat PC Wireless Headset
Logitech surprised everyone at CeBIT and unveiled their very first wireless headset. The Logitech ClearChat PC Wireless headset, if I might say so myself, looks good. It’s a 2.4 GHz wireless which allows you use it even if you’re 33 feet away from your computer. The earphones deliver uncompressed, high-quality audio sound, while the microphone uses noise-cancelling technology. All of this is made possible solely through its USB transmitter, with no other pairing or software requirements. The Logitech ClearChat PC Wireless headset will be sold for around 50 in US and Europe on May, 2008. (Read the full post about ‘Logitech ClearChat PC Wireless Headset’…)

European Xbox 360 price cut this month?

Written by admin on Thursday, March 6th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

There are rumors floating around the Internet this week that the Xbox 360 is about to get a price cut across Europe. If correct, the price of all editions of the console will fall by US$76 and the reduction will come into effect on March 14.

The significance of the reduction would be that Microsoft’s base model, the Xbox 360 Arcade, would then be cheaper than the Nintendo Wii in European territories. It is also significant that it would come into effect right before the Easter holidays when children get 2-3 weeks off from school.

Apparently, retailers have had to sign NDAs with Microsoft so as not to announce the price changes early, but TechRadar claims several U.K.

NEC’s LaVie G laptop gets Kimi Kissed
Posted Mar 6th 2008 3:11AM by Darren MurphFiled under: Laptops NEC’s LaVie lineup has been dressed up in just about every costume imaginable, but for whatever reason, it has yet to be embossed with the characters from Kimi Kiss — until now, that is. Fans of the series will surely appreciate the design cues, but the hard part will be choosing from the smorgasbord of color options. Nevertheless, those actually concerned with what’s inside the chassis will find a 2GHz Mobile Sempron 3600+ CPU, 512MB of RAM, an 80GB hard drive, DVD combo drive and a 15.4-inch 1,280 x 800 resolution panel. Microsoft StartKey Flash Drive

Written by admin on Thursday, March 6th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

Microsoft StartKey Flash Drive
Microsoft is currently working on its new StartKey portable flash drive that will see action at the end of this year, storing essential information like a user’s Windows profile, applications, and settings, making it portable wherever he/she goes. Sounds like SanDisk’s defunct U3 platform, eh? This StartKey can even go so far as to carry an entire bootable installation, making computing more portable than ever. StartKey technology is not limited to just USB flash drives as Microsoft wants to make it compatible with different flash memory types such as SD cards. I suppose the StartKey can only work with Windows-based PCs that need certain patches installed before it can work, and will it pose a security issue for companies?
