Nokia N95 8GB finally arrives Stateside

Poor Americans! They have finally received the Nokia N95 8GB model while the rest of the world have long enjoyed the uber-capable smartphone’s release for quite some time now already. This means those living Stateside can finally rock on with this handset that features a wide range of portable entertainment functions and high-speed HSDPA connectivity on 850/1900 MHz networks in the Americas. Each purchase will come with half a dozen months’ worth of free navigation service which comes included with Nokia Maps. According to Bill Plummer, vice president, Nokia Americas, “We’re excited to now offer this all-in-one powerhouse of a multimedia computer in the United States. Multimedia phones will outsell TV sets by years end

Multimedia phones will outsell TV sets by years end
As someone who hasn’t been watching TV for more than a year now in favor of my gadgets (especially the handhelds) I can see where Research and Markets’s recent report is coming from. According to this new report, there are going to be more multimedia phones sold than TV sets this year. You can see evidence of this just by walking down the street. You don’t see a lot of people walking with TV sets in their pockets now, don’t you? All jokes aside though, as that is not the case with cellphones and handhelds in general, most people can even afford to carry more than one handset with them everyday. Also, I think another reason for this is because mobile phones in general, not just multimedia-enabled ones, are now a commodity. Air Freshener records sordid details

Air Freshener records sordid details

This air freshener isn’t that innocent after all, considering the fact that it comes with a camera and microphone to capture all those illicit moments under the guise of suspicion. A covert 3G colour camera and microphone are discretely built into this common domestic air freshener, allowing the user to receive both crisp picture, and excellent sound from anywhere in the world where there is 3G service. Gone are the days where range is important and you can only see images within a 100m radius, on a good day, now you can see and hear not only from another town or Country but also from another Continent. The Operation Game, Hulk Style

The Operation Game, Hulk Style

I’m sure several of you are looking at this and saying: “Just what possessed Hasbro to make a version of the Operation Game with the Hulk?” I wish I could help you. The only answer I can give you is simply “because they can”. Also, Hasbro wants to cash in on the Hulk franchise that will hopefully receive a major boost with the release of The Incredible Hulk movie this summer. I’m told that this film is not a direct sequel to Ang Lee’s The Hulk (2003). That’s fine by me, because that film was so awful, the Hulk deserves a Batman Begins like reboot. In fact, there is a trailer for The Incredible Hulk floating around on the Internet, and it actually looks pretty good. (Read the full post about ‘The Operation Game, Hulk Style’…)

Microsoft says no Blu-ray player for Xbox

Written by admin on Wednesday, March 19th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

What? Are you crazy Microsoft? You’re really not planning to make a Blu-ray add-on for the 360? You’re really going to let your competitor, Sony, have the only console (PS3) with a player, built-in no less? I predict that this is going to change within 6 months, probably when someone else at Microsoft overrules the Xbox 360 manager who is making this decision.

Best Buy offering gift cards, trade-in program for HD DVD player owners
In a move to help those upset customers who purchased an hd dvd player, Best Buy has announced they will begin offering $50 gift cards for those who made their purchase before February 23, 2008. Considering the HD DVD players will still function and work fairly nice as an up-converting DVD player this $50 gift card offer sounds nice, but just in case you absolutely want it gone, there is also a trade-in program to consider. The $50 gift card offer requires the HD DVD player have been purchased at Best Buy, however, and this is where some good news comes in. The Trade-In Center Program will allow anyone to trade in their ‘old’ HD DVD player and also their HD DVD movies whether purchased at Best Buy or not. The Freescape 4360 features a 4.3-inch 16:9 widescreen display, 60GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi, FM tuner and TV-out. There is nothing quite like a hot cup of coffee to start off those dreary mornings at the office, but unfortunately for many, we tend to get swamped with work and before you know it - the steaming hot coffee is now cold and bland. The Hot & Cold USB Coaster Control helps prevent that from happening, drawing power from a nearby USB port to keep your favorite beverage hot (or cold), with temperatures ranging between 104 degrees Fahrenheit and 59 degrees. Eye-Fi Card Goes Under the Knife
Ever wondered what is inside the Eye-Fi SD memory card? Well wonder no more, as IkonTools has just taken one of those and placed it under a skilful surgeon’s knife, revealing it’s innards for all and sundry to see. Just check out the WiFi radio (number seven is the antenna) and marvel at how small everything has become today. I wonder when a microSD version of the Eye-Fi will be released.
