Written by admin on Tuesday, March 25th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

Samsung’s i458 cell phone concentrates a whole lot on music, and you can tell by the sound pumping out from it courtesy of B&O’s ICEpower audio module. Just make sure that the encoded MP3s you have on your handset are of high quality, else the best speakers in the world can’t do much on their own. Other features of the i458 are :-

  • 2.4” LCD display
  • 3.5G support
  • Symbian S60 v3.1
  • 25MB internal memory

Keyboard PC has a new take on the all-in-one concept

Written by admin on Tuesday, March 25th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

When you think of an all-in-one PC, I would venture to guess that the first image that pops in your head would be that of an iMac. If not specifically Apple’s branded machine, then one similar, which featured all of the main components housed in the monitor. Since you’re always going to need a monitor, it seems like the perfect setup. All you need is a keyboard and mouse and you’re all set. Have you ever considered getting a computer that’s built into your keyboard?

I can see why someone would think to pack a PC inside the keyboard, as someday you may want to upgrade your monitor. You won’t be able to do that without getting an entirely new system.

Samsung Armani Review - Mobile Choice UK

Samsung Armani Review - Mobile Choice UK
Mobile Choice UK reviews the Samsung Armani and writes, “There are enough camera features to keep you occupied, with a rapid 15-shot burst mode and white balance options to improve picture quality. We found the camera struggled somewhat with moving images and produced slightly blurred results. However, with a built-in flash and video capture at 30fps, the camera is more than capable.” Read more about the Samsung Armani. NVIDIA’s 9800 GX2-based Quad SLI solution gets mixed reviews
Posted Mar 25th 2008 1:10PM by Donald MelansonFiled under: Desktops, Gaming NVIDIA’s high-end GeForce 9800 GX2 graphics card has been pretty well received on its own, but it looks to be decidedly more of a mixed bag when it comes to a Quad SLI configuration, at least according to a pair of early reviews. Least impressed with the setup was PC Perspective, which described the system’s performance as “uninspiring” and “frustrating more often than it was fun to play on.” The site did see some potential in the system, however, saying that it’s very possible that NVIDIA will be able to address many of the problems in upcoming driver releases. Hold off on that Blu-ray player purchase

Written by admin on Tuesday, March 25th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

Now that there is no longer any war between hd dvd and Blu-ray for format rights, you probably think it’s time you upgraded your standard DVD to Blu-ray, right? Well, an article by Troy Wolverton of the Mercury News might have you re-think that logic. Wolverton says it’s probably best for consumers to wait a little longer before purchasing a Blu-ray player.

One of reasons is that Wolverton believes that Blu-ray prices will continue to fall. He estimates they will fall as much as US$100 by the holiday season. The price will continue to fall as more manufacturers begin to make Blu-ray players.

Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson officially has the best job in the world. Below is his take on clay pigeon shooting, only the clays have been switched for cars and the gun for, well, big, dangerous weapons.

He starts with a pump action shotgun and moves up to some tripod-mounted death-spitting machine. I won’t tell you what comes last. Just watch the spectacularly joyful and un-PC Clarkson. I dare you not to smile or cheer.

Forget Shooting Clay Pigeons, Go For Flying Cars.

Chinese cellphone claims to last two whole years on a single charge
I generally don’t trust Chinese made goods and most Chinese-made cellphone available in my nick of the woods have a dodgy shelf life so you can well understand why I would have my reservations about this supposedly revolutionary new Chinese phone that claims to last almost two years without a charge. The phone has the almost mandatory features like a 3-inch touchscreen, a 1.3-megapixel camera, four built-in speakers, dual-SIM card support, Bluetooth, an mp3 player, an e-book reader and handwriting recognition in both the English and Chinese language. e-Snake Scooter that Tilts

Written by admin on Tuesday, March 25th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

e-Snake Scooter that Tilts

The e-Snake is a scooter that is powered by lithium ion batteries. The scooter features a tilting mechanism which allows it to corner quicker while keeping the back wheels on the floor. It participated in Formula Electric and Hybrid in Italy last year and was awarded top marks for acceleration and speed. With it being electric, the scooter weighs quite a bit at 357 pounds. With that hefty weight it can still have a range of 62 miles which is ample for most people travelling to and from the office each day. If it could be just made lighter, which might not be possible with the lithium ion batteries, I am sure it could get a far greater range. However, it’s not the best looking scooter I have seen. DSUS DS-400GB rear-view mirror with GPS

DSUS DS-400GB rear-view mirror with GPS
We have seen rearview mirrors with built-in cams to help you backup but this is one of the few that incorporates a GPS navigation device into the mirror. The DSUS DS-400GB is a 4″ unit flushed to the right of the mirror, but I’m not exactly hot with the idea of looking up just to check out directions, sounds dangerous. This rearview mirror touch screen monitor comes with hands free Bluetooth module to pair up with your phone, integrated speakers, SD/MMC memory card expansion slot, and a USB port. The rear view camera is activated automatically when in reverse gear. (Read the full post about ‘DSUS DS-400GB rear-view mirror with GPS’…)
