For one, the HDR-TG3E is the world’s lightest and smallest full HD camcorder in the 1920×1080 handycam series. Only In Japan: Pro Rubik’s Cube Kit

Written by admin on Friday, April 4th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

Way back in the 1980’s the Rubik’s Cube swept the playgrounds of the UK, and probably the world. But the story of the frustrating puzzle had one (ahem) twist: For a brief moment, geeks were cool. I could (and still can) solve the Cube, and the ladies loved it.

Ernő Rubik’s toy is still around, and the Rubik’s Speed Cubing Kit is a pro solution for the many Speedcubers looking for an edge in contests. The included Cube has a removable tile which reveals a hole for adding the supplied lubricant and for adjusting the tension in the mechanism. These things really do make a difference. A couple of things to watch out for here, one the data is based on a survey, not point of sale.  Two, 13 year olds and under don’t count.  Much has been said about downloads vs. (Read the full post about ‘iTunes climbs over Wal-Mart’…)

Blackberry: “iPhone?  iPhone who?”; RIM earings double
RIM has got to be feeling pretty good this morning.  Despite the competition from the plethora of smartphones on the market, the company managed to up its subscriber count by 2.2 million in the companies Q4 (ending March 1).  This is an impressive feat for 3 main reasons: RIM did not introduce any new devices during this quarter. The economy isn’t doing RIM any favors The iphone still gets mentioned a bazillion times a day in free advertising (thanks in part to me) The company reported sales of $1.88 billion, up 108% from last year (and continues better than expected results).  Still, RIM manages to add and expects to add another 2.2 subscribers in the first quarter.  And what’s more, it plans to do that without help from another major new device other than those already mentioned. Toshiba unveils Sleep-and-Charge USB ports, charges even when PC is off
Together with its announcement of redesigned laptops in its Satellite series, Toshiba has also announced a new technology called Sleep-and-Charge USB ports. As you can guess from its name, this allows the USB port to charge up your mobile devices whether the laptop is powered on, shut off or in sleep mode.
