Motorola Z10 might be in T-Mobile’s 3G launch
If the word on Howard Forums about T-Mobile’s 3G network launch holds true, we might be seeing the Motorola Z10 as one of the flagship 3G handsets. And though this news is mostly speculation and rumor for now, it could be an interesting development for T-Mobile, as well as a much needed break for the ailing handset maker, Motorola. In case you don’t remember, the Motorola Z10 is a 3.5G phone in a slider form factor. And not just any slider form factor, mind you, the Motorola Z10 comes in a crescent style slider design, which is something new for Motorola, and slider handsets in general. It also has a 3.2-megapixel camera with an auto-focus lens, and it shoots video at 30 FPS, which makes it a great camera phone for making videos on the fly. Red Sidekick Slide

Red Sidekick Slide
Looks like the Motorola booth had a red Sidekick Slide on display this year at CTIA 2008. No word yet on when it will hit market (if it even will). I know a lot of people quoted the purple color as being a reason they steered away from the Slide. In my personal opinion the red looks sexy, and I’d totally rock it. Indonesia bans porn, gets Information Ministry website hacked in return
There has been some great debates among the Muslim-majority Asian nation about whether or not to ban the access of pornographic materials. The government of Indonesia took the first step to restrict the access of pornographic materials from the web and went as far as making the “transmission of pornographic material on the Web” a criminal offense. Well it goes to show that when people want their porn they will stand up for what they believe is right, in respond with the government’s action, a couple of “web criminals” hacked into the website of the Information Ministry, and added their personal message and thoughts. Snapture Fixes The iPhone’s Camera, Free

Snapture Fixes The iPhone’s Camera, Free
The developers behind Snapture, a new camera enhancement add-on for the iphone, don’t pull any punches on the product site: While the iPhone itself is a slick package, the fact of the matter is most of the Apple built apps are mediocre and overly simplistic - to point where features are sacrificed. It’s like buying a new sports car and driving it at the speed limit. That’s a valid point, and the five authors of the software didn’t just complain: they did something about it. Snapture adds many new features that should have been built in. There’s burst mode which captures three frames in a row, a 3X digital zoom, a grayscale setting, proper 360º auto-rotation (for snapping pictures upside down), a level (which appears to use the iPhone’s accelerometers) and support for different image sizes. Digital Cutting Board

Digital Cutting Board
Most cutting boards are but plain colored rectangles, but the Digital Cutting Board from Nardo Design is worlds apart from what we have in the market today. It is equipped with a flexible LCD display that shows cooking instructions on it to help you achieve that perfect meal. In addition, it also allows you to read up on downloaded recipes which you have a personal interest in. Chromium handles on both ends complete the Digital Cutting Board, and it will be made out of environmentally-friendly components which do not pollute our world after disposal. Unfortunately, the Digital Cutting Board is but a concept at this point in time, so you’ll be better off with a flat panel TV in your kitchen for now. Pen Fishing Rod

Written by admin on Monday, April 7th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

Ever took a stroll along the banks of a river, only to catch a glimpse of a pretty large fish making its way through the murky depths? Why, the fishing bug within you is stirred and you mutter your frustrations under your breath that you did not bring all your fishing equipment with you. The Pen Fishing Rod aims to alleviate this guilt, allowing you to have a go at impromptu fishing.

Ok, this clever little gadget is about the size of a large marker pen at only eight inches long, and yet opens up to become an aluminium alloy 4ft fishing rod, complete with a left and right handed reel (packed separately), a 5lb breaking strain line, and even includes a triple hook spinner.

Creative TravelSound i80 for iPod nano

Written by admin on Monday, April 7th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

Just as the Creative TravelSound i50 for the iPod shuffle undermined the player’s most compelling feature (its size), the newly announced TravelSound i80 pounces on the ipod nano and negates its thinness. That Creative agreed to begin making iPod accessories only after Apple was forced to pay them $100 million in 2006 (lawsuit recap here) makes their “excess-ories” seem like rubbing salt into the wound. I mean, does equipping the i80 with a USB port, volume rocker, and power button justify the fact that it makes the nano about three times thicker and adds 3.2 ounces to its 1.7-ounce frame?

Thanks for joining the Made for iPod gang, guys.

Aerogarden 3 Starter Kit (Aeroponic Gardening)

Written by admin on Monday, April 7th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

We first featured the AeroGarden a looong time ago when they essentially only had 1 model and since then AeroGrow, the manufacturer has launched a number of additional models including this new $100 model.

The AeroGarden 3 has everything you need to grow your own organic herbs and vegetables, using CFLs and less energy than a single 60W bulb. Using its built-in computer, the AeroGarden monitors and adjusts the nutrient delivery, light and water for specific plants. There’s also a reminder system to tell you when you need to add more water and nutrients.

Little Lamp

Little Lamp
Little Lamp There’s only two ways of putting this. The Battery Lamp is a battery and a lamp. A lamp and a battery. It’s titchy small and fiendishly clever, as the battery itself acts as the base, while a pure LED provides all the illumination.
