Jabra M5390 dual BT headset has “leave me alone” written all over it
Noise-canceling headphones be gone! Who needs inferior products such as those when you can comfortably sit back with two calls simultaneously with the Jabra M5390 dual Bluetooth headset? Talk about trying to tell everyone around you that you are busy, and can’t be disturbed no matter what. This mind-boggling device, in my honest opinion, is so dumb that it’s brilliant! With the Jabra M5390 dual Bluetooth headset, you can take calls from two different devices, like say a GSM handset and a Skype phone, at the very same time. It offers DSP noise canceling technology itself, although I’m not sure how well that would really work when you’re trying to listen to two different sounds at a time. One-stop shopping for laptop bags at Career Bags - and contest
If our recent Laptop bag bonanza - Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 - has left you dizzy with choices, here’s a suggestion: check out Career Bags. With the exception of the Zegari, they sell all the bags we’ve previewed, including Abbi New York, Casauri, Diane Von Furstenburg, and McKlein, and have the best stock of anyone on the web, including this beautiful red GOLLA bag from Finland. The self-made executive and owner of Career Bags, Ellen Hart, echoed the other women we talked to when she told us, “I originally designed business cases for women in 1989 because they didn’t exist.” The modest entrepreneur doesn’t volunteer at first that she designed the Veronica London, a very popular handbag design that she sold to Hartman luggage and still sells on her site. Asus Eee PC 900 sees official release
This hardly seems like news, since we have heard so much about it over the past few weeks, but Asus has finally officially announced the second generation Eee PC. The Eee PC 900 does not stray far from what we have heard over the past few weeks and should not come as a surprise to anyone who has been following the scene lately. The Eee PC 900 will have an 8.9-inch display, 1.3M pixels webcam, “FingerGlide” technology, and either 12GB (Windows) or 20GB (Linux) of solid-state storage. The original 7-inch 800×480 display will get an upgrade to a much more usable 1024×800 but the weight will stay the same, still being under the one kilogram mark. 22-ft. ‘Styrobot’ Invades Robot Exhibit

Written by admin on Wednesday, April 16th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

What do you do with the Styrofoam left over from your gadgets? We usually keep it littered about the office until someone gets hurt and/or starts yelling. Artist Michael Salter has undoubtedly found a better use.

As part of an automaton-themed exhibit at the San Jose Museum of Art, Salter has constructed a 22-ft tall robot made of the annoying packing material.

USB Flash Drive Cuff Links

USB Flash Drive Cuff Links

There are a ton of different flash drives that have been created all the way from a USB Flash Drive Burger all the way now to USB Cuff Links. These cuff links have a 2GB flash drive built in (1Gb on each wrist I believe) and are the work of designer Tonia Welter and Julia Reyman. They are limited edition although I can find no mention of how limited they are. If 2 GB of storage is not enough for you then you have a couple of choices. You can opt to buy other USB jewellery that the designers have created such as a bracelet, necklace and others… or they do mention that upgrades are possible. Eve Online source code leaked

Written by admin on Wednesday, April 16th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

Earlier this week the source code for the MMO Eve Online started to appear on the Internet via torrents. The code was for the Eve Online client software leading some to fear it would jeopardize the game or security in some way.

Developer CCP have been quick to dispel those fears, however, stating that:

Access to the source code for the EVE client exposes no security vulnerabilities, has no privacy protection issues, and poses no threat to our customers’ billing information.

In fact the game, like all MMOs, is designed with security in mind. The security is concentrated on the server-side where all the player and game information is actually kept.

Seagate uses patents against Solid State Drive manufacturers

Written by admin on Wednesday, April 16th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

In the cutthroat storage market profit margins are small and the competition rife. Seagate has decided that it’s time to start getting aggressive and is actioning some patents it believes are being violated by solid state drive (SSD) manufacturers.

The company STEC, which manufacture the Zeus-IOPS SSDs for enterprise customers, is the first target. Seagate claims STEC is violating four patents it holds relating to the communication of an SSD with a computer, including how they handle error corrections and how they handle memory backups.
