CLEVER Concept Vehicle

Written by admin on Thursday, June 19th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

CLEVER Concept Vehicle
The CLEVER concept design hails from the Technical University of Berlin, featuring a small fuel-efficient vehicle that is meant for city driving. It features a computer-countrolled hydraulic rolling system that allows you to enjoy an unparalleled driving experience of zero lateral forces at tilting angles of up to 45, which is akin to riding a motorcycle. A single cylinder 230cc compressed natural gas engine will run the CLEVER concept, and you won’t be burning rubber anytime soon with a top speed of 62 mph. Being a “green” vehicle, it churns out less than 60 g/km of CO2, boasting a stunning fuel consumption of 188 miles per gallon. Too bad there’s no way to, er, pool CLEVER-ly with your colleagues. Lexon Around Clock Sets Time To Run Full Circle

Written by admin on Thursday, June 19th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

There’s just something about unconventional clock design that lures us geeks in like nothing else. Perhaps it has to do with the allure of physics and the constant progression of time. Or maybe it’s just because there are a ton of really cool clock designs. Whatever the reason, cool clocks never cease to impress us.

The Lexon Around Clock is no exception. Resembling something like an egg-timer flipped on its side and smashed flat into a circular dial, the Around Clock is an analogue time piece which displays the time with cylinder rotation. Basically, the middle portion revolves as the time progresses.

Switched On: The iPhone’s iFunnel
by Ross Rubin, posted Jun 19th 2008 at 11:46AMEach week Ross Rubin contributes Switched On, a column about technology, multimedia, and digital entertainmentThe first iPhone arrived at a time that suggested Apple needed to protect its iPod franchise — but Apple delivered something that was much more than an mp3 player that could make phone calls. You probably won’t be editing any iMovies on it for some time, but in the iPhone Apple has essentially delivered Macintosh 2.0. It’s portable. It’s affordable. It’s connected. And it runs OS X, complete with its own breakthrough pointing device, your finger. (Read the full post about ‘Switched On: The iPhone’s iFunnel’…)

i2i Stream Two Pack from Aerielle, Inc.

i2i Stream Two Pack from Aerielle, Inc.
There are times when we are listening to a song on our MP3 player, and we want our friends to hear it to. I believe that the illegal way is to have your friends download the song onto their MP3 players, but I think we all know that sharing music files is bad. Fortunately, there legal ways to share a song with devices like the i2i Stream Two Pack from Aerielle, Inc. These i2i streams are universally compatible with ipod and other MP3 players. All you have to do is connect one i2i stream to your MP3 player and hit the send button. The other stream must be connected to your friend’s mp3 player, and he or she must hit “Receive”. Your friend will now hear exactly what you hear with a wireless signal that can be sent or received at 30 feet. (Read the full post about ‘i2i Stream Two Pack from Aerielle, Inc.’…)

VIA’s OpenBook gets fittingly ripped open
by Darren Murph, posted Jun 19th 2008 at 11:22AM It only makes sense that VIA’s contribution to the quickly growing netbook world — the OpenBook — get ripped wide open, wouldn’t you agree? Better still, this isn’t your typical dissection, as the invasive Tim Brown tears apart his own product on video. (Read the full post about ‘VIA’s OpenBook gets fittingly ripped open’…)

Sprint WiMAX Coming Soon

Written by admin on Thursday, June 19th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

Sprint WiMAX Coming Soon
Sprint’s long awaited WiMAX deployment will happen this September in Baltimore, with Washington DC and Chicago to follow before the year is over, according to Sprint CEO Dan Hesse. Better late than never, that’s what I say. The back-end system will be provided by Amdocs, and early adopters will have to dig deep since hardware to access the network won’t be subsidized, leaving consumers to pay the full cost for PC card modems, USB dongles and even the Nokia N810. Will you jump onto the WiMAX bandwagon when it arrives? Tags: hi fi, gizmos, lcd, wi-fi (Read the full post about ‘Sprint WiMAX Coming Soon’…)

Taters of the Lost Ark

Written by admin on Thursday, June 19th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

Taters of the Lost Ark
Trust Mr. Potato Head to come up with yet another parody, this time emulating Harrison Ford in his younger days when he starred in Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark. This time round, Mr. Potato Head will play a role in Taters of the Lost Ark, complete with the signature bullwhip to get you started. As well as his Indiana Jones gear, Mr Potato Head: Taters of the Lost Ark comes with non-heroic essentials such as shoes, ears, teeth and a mouth. And that’s just as well because he’ll need his faculties firmly in place when he’s fleeing from that big King Edward you keep rolling towards him. In fact, when it comes to creating ridiculous Raiders-style scenarios, the possibilities are endless. (Read the full post about ‘Taters of the Lost Ark’…)

CJ7 Dog Doll MP3 Player is a bit on the ugly side

CJ7 Dog Doll MP3 Player is a bit on the ugly side
Apparently this odd little mp3 player is modeled after a dog that appeared in Stephen Chow’s CJ7, which I had no idea was even in existence.  Maybe in my part of the world they didn’t deem it worthy of actually being presented in theaters.  However, someone decided it was worth a gadget being made after it.  I have to admit the movie trailer seemed decent and even a bit humorous.  Don’t worry, it was actually meant to be funny.  It wasn’t funny in the way that it would make its way onto MST3K, which I’m an addict for. What’s Conferencing?

If you’re an individual with latest mobile or who’s a keen interest in technology then you must have heard of term ‘conferencing’. So, what’s conferencing?

Conferencing is a result of continuous development in technology and a conference call is the call in which a number of users are talking at the same time i.e. the calling person can have more than one called person. A conference bridge is required to establish the phone conference as it is an equipment that links telephone lines.
