Kage Roi Helps you Generate Ideas
I always enjoy reporting on the latest Conceptual gadgets, so I couldn’t resist reporting on this one. It is known as the “Kage roi”, is a concept gadget that helps groups come up with more concepts. Simply put, the Kage roi is a boardroom table that has built-in voice recognition ability. So the next time you and a group of businesspeople are having a vocal brainstorming session, the Kage roi picks up on your keywords, and provides each person a display of its internet search. In short, the Kage Roi is a brainstorming table with a brain. But it isn’t just the table that is the concept. Apparently, the room is equipped with LEDs that can change the lighting. The somewhat bizarre 360 degrees concept car

The somewhat bizarre 360 degrees concept car
This new concept car is, to say the least, odd. In fact unless you were briefed beforehand it might take you a while to work out what it is; a concept car from Peugot cleverly disguised as a squashed drinks can. Nevertheless this façade is complimented by some very savvy specifications, some of which are given away by its name, the ‘Ozone’. It’s name derives from the fact that its powered by ‘environmentally friendly’ hydrogen fuel cells which power the two electric motors, and in turn the large wheels which sit either side of the cabin. This two person cabin is both spacious and luxurious, and it goes some way to epitomizing the contemporary world in which we live today, which is only emphasized by the fact that this is controlled by a joystick! Honda tests Walking Assist Device
Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has started to test its experimental walking assist device by helping the elderly as well as folks with weakened leg muscles get around without any assistance, letting them regain their pride and mobility. If there is one country that needs this device, Japan is it considering the fact that they have the highest number of senior citizens within. The whole idea of this walking assist device is to help people relearn to walk safely and efficiently. I hope to see a commercial version ready soon without breaking the bank. New MetroPCS subscribers can bring their own phones

Written by admin on Monday, June 30th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

One thing which has always been frustrating about signing up for wireless service in the U.S. is that if you ever switch carriers you usually can’t bring the mobile phone you already purchased with you. The latest announcement by MetroPCS Communications will change all that through a new service called MetroFlash.

MetroFlash will allow subscribers the ability to use their existing CDMA handsets on the MetroPCS network. This will eliminate the need for customers to purchase a new handset if they don’t want one.

ICANN suffers embarrassing NetDevilz hack

Written by admin on Monday, June 30th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

After announcing plans to open up the Internet past the 21 current top-level domains, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has suffered an embarrassing hack.

The hack also affected the Internet Assigned Names Authority (IANA) and was carried out by the Turkish group NetDevilz. Those visiting either site while the hack was active were redirected to an atspace.com hosted site. The message put there by the NetDevilz group read as follows:

# NeTDevilz #

You think that you control the domains but you don’t! Everybody knows wrong.

Matrox M-series graphic cards go 4-up natively
by Thomas Ricker, posted Jun 30th 2008 at 7:26AM Matrox just announced er, last week, it’s new M-Series of graphics cards powered by the industry’s first QuadHead GPU. All the PCIe X16 cards offer 512MB of graphics memory and support up to 4x widescreen monitors (DVI or analog) simultaneously as one large desktop or as independent resolutions. The cards can connect a pair of monitors at a max digital resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 or just 1,920 x 1,200 if you’re looking to go quad. Maxtor’s Monolithic Media Server Packs One Terabyte

Maxtor’s Monolithic Media Server Packs One Terabyte
You know, when I got a MacBook with an 80GB hard drive it seemed huge. But after about five minutes of BitTorrent shenanigans, I realized my naiveté. I also realized that offloading files, especially music files, to an external drive is problematic. The point of a notebook is portability, and hooking up a USB drive just to listen to podcasts in the kitchen (what can I say, Danny, Jose and Dylan; your soothing voices stop the mayonnaise splitting every time) is a pain. What I need is something like Maxtor’s Central Axis, a one Terabyte NAS (Network Attached Storage). It has a gigabit ethernet connection to keep speeds up near those of a local drive, and two USB ports to add further storage when you need it.
