Personal Thoughts About the iPhone 3G, Visualized Through Cloud Tag ‘Wordles’
Everyone, it seems, has the iPhone 3G on the brain today, but what are people really thinking, deep within the oblongata? We wanted to find out so we decided to use the power of the Internet to create some interesting Word Tag Clouds using Jonathan Feinberg’s Wordle program, one of the best and most colorful tag apps out there. Worldle is a program that automatically generates “word clouds” from any text that you provide. The ‘clouds’ that are reproduced give prominence to single words that are repeated more often in the text. The program is especially interesting because you can change it with different colors and orientations, depending on your aesthetic preference. Play as your favorite mascot in NCAA ‘09 All-Play

Written by admin on Friday, July 11th, 2008 in Gadgets and Devices.

College football is a unique beast. People either love it or hate it. Growing up in the land of the ever-powerful SEC, I tend to reside on the “love it” side. For people like me, EA has introduced a fun, new feature in the Wii version of their NCAA Football ‘09. Haven’t you always wanted a team full of nothing but mascots? Good, because now you can have just that. The reason it’s on the Wii version of the game is the new All-Play line that EA has planned for all of their sports game. Essentially, it’s a version of the game that is to require a minimal amount of skill to play while utilizing a variety of simple-to-understand control schemes.

So you’re taking in all of this coverage of the iPhone 3G and suddenly start saying to yourself: "Man, does this mean that I have to follow the pack completely to the Apple store in order to get a good multimedia cell phone experience? Or can I find something else that is just different but can come close to the so-called Jesus Phone? That thing’s not Jesus, alright?!" We hear you. And we salute the mutinous thinkers, the ones who choose to go their own way…all the way to the clutches of another multimedia/telecom/manufacturing conglomerate who will gladly take your money as well. GPS navigation for iPhone confirmed

GPS navigation for iPhone confirmed
TeleNav has confirmed they will be on the iphone 3G using the GPS radio for turn by turn navigation in 3D.  This comes as interesting news for a couple of reasons.  One is Job’s statement that the GPS radio was not strong enough for turn by turn directions and two that Tom-Tom was the front runner in navigation partners. “According to Apple, the iPhone’s G.P.S. antenna is much too small to emulate the turn-by-turn navigation of a G.P.S. unit for a vehicle, for example.” -David Pogue Um, OK, so it is strong enough for TeleNav?  Anyone else confused?  More as it develops. Also, I have a suspicion Gizmodo got the new slightly wrong: I believe the app will be available through the App store but you’ll still be charged a monthly access fee from TeleNav.  This has been their business model and I don’t see them going for a one time application fee.  You? Windows 3.11 Bites the Dust

Windows 3.11 Bites the Dust
At long last, the venerable Windows 3.11 operating system will officially be put to rest four months after Windows XP is removed from the consumer market. Yes, that would mean that Windows 3.11 has been around for a good 15 years, and the secret of its longevity lies in the fact that it is used in a countless number of low-horsepower platforms such as cash registers and train schedule displays. No love lost there as the world aims to come to grips with to a world filled with Windows Vista. Tags: TV, equipment, amps, cameras (Read the full post about ‘Windows 3.11 Bites the Dust’…)

Time Bomb Alarm Clock is sure to drag you out of bed

Time Bomb Alarm Clock is sure to drag you out of bed
One thing that we are never short of as far as gadgets go are novelty alarm clocks.  Having just a normal alarm clock is clearly not an option with some.  This Bomb Alarm Clock even comes complete with a fake fuse to give it a more realistic look.  Then just in case it was unclear it’s a time bomb, it says on the front in bold letters TIME BOMB.  As if we were going to somehow miss that part. The alarm sits as you see in the picture, then when it’s time to wake up it flashes red.  If you want a few more minutes of rest in that warm bed, just pull on the fuse to activate the snooze button.  Being an LED clock it projects the time brightly all night long.  So when tossing and turning in the night you can quickly glance over to see how precious few hours you have left.  The clock uses three AAA batteries and will cost you about $40 or £19.99 from DrinkStuff.
